After a great response to the competition to design the helmet which he'll wear at the Grand Prix of Baltimore, IndyCar’s Justin Wilson and the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) have selected a design by 14-year-old Janelle Sowders of Harrogate, Tennessee.

“I thought Janelle’s design was unique and had a lot of interesting elements. I really liked the race car on the side and its colorful exhaust as well as the strong ‘never give up’ slogan and the IDA’s logo on the front,” said Justin. “Overall I thought Janelle did a great job to integrate everything and it was really well drawn too. I can’t wait to wear this in Baltimore.”

After the end of the season, Justin’s Grand Prix of Baltimore helmet will be raffled off to one lucky winner. Raffle tickets will be on sale starting today through October 15, 2012 for $20 with proceeds benefiting the IDA.

About Justin Wilson

After struggling for years at school, Justin discovered he was dyslexic when we was 13 years old. A talented go-karter from the age of 8, he has learned to cope with his own dyslexia while forging an international motorsports career. Now the former Formula 1 driver and multiple IndyCar Series race winner is an Ambassador of the IDA and is helping the Association in its promotion of dyslexia awareness and education.

“It’s a great honor to be helping the IDA raise awareness about dyslexia and to promote their work in helping children with dyslexia achieve their full potential,” commented Justin, driver of the #18 Sonny's Bar-B-Q Honda. “Most importantly, as someone who has learned to live with dyslexia, I want to provide hope and inspiration to children and their parents that it is still possible to achieve your dreams, whatever they may be.”
